Offices 08 Conference
The first ever Offices 08, held on 15/16 September was a great success, with over 600 delegates gathered together at the Celtic Manor in Newport, South Wales, hearing from speakers including Stephen Hester, Hamish McRae, Nigel Baker and Sir Stuart Lipton.
With tumultuous events happening in the financial world, Offices 08 provided the perfect platform to discuss where the market stands and what is likely to happen going forward, resulting in much positive feedback from attendees of the event:
“I have been very impressed with Offices 08. This is the first time this event has taken place and the turn out is great with a full conference hall. Offices 08 is a terrific event on the calendar and a needed one.”
Stephen Hester, chief executive, British Land
“Offices 08 has been incredibly useful. As a valuer I recognise that value lies in occupiers willing to take space in a building and the occupiers have been very well represented at this event. In addition to this it has been a workman like conference, getting down to the hard work of understanding the issues of the day, particularly between occupies and investors.”
William Newsom, head of commercial valuation, Savills
“It’s great to get everyone together, to get the occupiers along with the developers, investors and agents, and to get a view of the market and where it’s going. I was very interested to hear the views of the keynote speakers, and the other speakers over the two days and I think that it’s fantastic they are all under the same roof.”
Robin Harris, president, CoreNet Global UK and director, Como
“It was undoubtedly the best conference I have attended in terms of relevance, the people and quality of venue".
Ralph Pearson, partner, Cluttons
"Offices 08 - brilliant!"
