12.01.09 Housing - Who Pays? BPF Residential Conference 2009

The British Property Federation's annual residential conference will take place on Tuesday, 27 January 2009 in central London. Allen & Overy will host the conference at their Foster & Partners' designed One Bishops Square offices near Liverpool Street Station.

Last week, Nationwide announced that housing prices dropped by 16% in 2008. A new report from CB Richard Ellis shows that the housing market will continue to fall, perhaps by as much as 30%, in the next 12 months. Other reports are equally pessimistic. Fionnuala Earley, Chief Economist at Nationwide, will discuss the drop and examine the forecast for the residential sector in more detail during a panel session at the British Property Federation's annual residential conference on 27 January. This will be the first conference this year to address the market's difficulties, and the only opportunity to get the low down on the key issues affecting the residential sector before the recession begins to bite.

Dr Julie Rugg, Sir Bob Kerslake, and Richard Blakeway from the London Mayor's office will also address over 200 delegates from the investment, development and policy worlds. Housing - who pays? will also look at the structural changes to the residential sector over the past year, with particular focus on development and investment, the future of the private rented sector, and how these challenges and initiatives are reshaping the housing market.

tta group is proud to sponsor the event alongside Allen & Overy, Allsop, Annington Homes, Grainger and the UNITE Group.
